Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, better known in the media as Ashanti was born October 13 1979 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an actress and a singer of the United States. Ashanti started her career as a teenager, and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song as well as Ja Rule's Always On Time track, both of which were huge hits. She became the first female artist to hold the first and second spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at the top spot and the track What's Luv? What's Luv? Ja Rule's "Always on Time" as well as Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" were also featured. In her debut song Foolish and Foolish, the DeBarge song Stay with Me from 1983 is sampled. The first album of her own, which was released on Irv's Murder Inc. in 2002 was Ashanti. The Declaration her fourth studio album was released on June 3 2008. On the 16th October Hey Baby (After the Club) was made available to radio stations as well as digital channels. The film in which she starred was Christmas in the City and as Latasha the character Montclair from Army Wives. Her track Rock wit U was sampled by British musician Aitch to accompany his track Baby on 10 March 2022.
